Okay, pie fans. Here's a page dedicated to the bestest desert food of all time. . . Pie!
It's July, 2004 and people keep talking to me about pie, which makes me hungry, but it also gave me an idea. If you haven't figured out what my idea is by now, man are you slow. But that's okay, you ARE on the idiot site after all.
Well, to begin with, I like pie. And I hope you like pie too. There are so many different flavours, and everyone is sure to like at least one variety. You know what? If you don't like pie, leave. . . nnnnnnnnow. Just kidding, you are free to stay even if you hate pie. But no 'Pie Hate Mail,' okay? Now that I mention it, If you have any pie related mail for me, click here to send it.
Back to the topic of pie. Every great person or object, should have a day honouring it. So, of course, we honour National Pie Day on January 23. This special day was cooked up by the American Pie Council (no pun intended), and is dedicated to the celebration of pie. To join in on the world-wide celebration, "give the gift of pie to a friend or neighbor," as the American Pie Council states. To visit their official "Pie Day" webpage, just click here. On this page, you will also find other ways to celebrate this delicous day.
Since I suppose it is important to know what exactly pie is: Pie can be defined as a baked food, consisting of pastry and filling. The outer pastry shell is generally light and flaky, and either completely encloses the filling, or acts as a support for it. Baked and made in a pie plate, the "crust" is thinly prepared in the tin pie plate and is filled with a filling. The filling can be made of anything; most common, fruits, meat, cheese and vegetables, meal pies beaing made of the latter three. The pie is then covered up by another thin sheet of pastry crust, and baked in the oven. The pie can be enjoyed at any meal, desset included, depending of what the pie filling is made of.
Now that you have been aquainted with the pie and it's doings, the real, hardcore pie discussions can begin.
I seem to be at a loss for words. Oh well. If you would like to contact me, click here.
You know what's good? Tortiere. Yum. It's a French thing that's basically meat pie, and I haven't had it in so long! Yum, it's really yummy. It's not a dessert pie, so the fact that it contains meat isn't gross. But yeah, it's good. Especially with ketchup. Gotta have ketchup on tortiere. . . Je suis faime. Oh yes, it's the French Canadian in me, I suppose;).
Well, it's now January 2005. . . Happy New Year Pie Fans!!! This reminds me, National Pie Day is coming up so I'm spreading the word.
